August 2 - john saw the green heron two days ago. He didn't stay long. There are several dragon flies darting around the pond. The bull frogs seem too hot to sing much. The mother Mallard hasn't even been visiting. She flew in for a quick dip in the small pond and a handout of fish food, but then left for parts unknown. The pond water is running about 80 degrees. The lazy days of summer are here. |
