February 1 - Overland Park, Kansas is having a major freezing rain/snow storm today. It is forcast to be 1/2 of ice covered by 8 - 15 inches of snow over the next several days.

Below are some pictures john took last night. john and joyce attended a "Jimmy Buffett Margarita Party" that Dana & Judy Forrester put on every year at this time. Dana is a nationally renowned artist of Corvette paintings. His work is so good that General Motors' Corvette division issued a "Dana Forrester" series of Corvettes for sale. February 2 - The major storm missed Overland Park. There was little freezing rain and no major accumulation of snow. Some schools closed, but most traffic is moving normally. If our friends have access to this site while on their cruise they can quit worrying.

February 5 (9:00 am) - It started snowing last night and has accumulated about 3 inches of snow so far. The total for the day will be around 6 inches. No freezing ice at all, just a very beautiful snowfall. john doubts there will be any power problems. He has asked the neighbor across from their friends' house to feed Pretzel today. john & joyce's friends are still cruise'n somewhere very sunny and warm today.

February 5 (10:36am) - Wow! The snow is coming down very quickly. Overland Park will exceed 6 inches today, as the snow is there already! Still, there should be no problems.

February 5 (4:00pm) - We received at least 9 inches of snow today. Four ducks flew in about 1/2 hour ago and they took a long time to get out of the little water left free. They had to fly up the 9 inches in order to walk to the food dish. Now they have gone back into the water and are having a grand time of it. Oops, they just flew away just now.
