joyce and john never did get the tinsel up for the
holidays. It become the property of a ZenCat once and for all!
Tinsel can both be a fashion statement and a source of warmth.
Time for meditation
Morning napping between two pillows. "Bird"
is in the foreground and will have to wait for the 3:00 PM play period.
john promised to show visitors the computer desk he
made and to furnish free plans for the desk. Here is half the promise:
several pictures of the desk. john also made the bookcase/tv stand next
to the desk. They are both made of birch plywood and finished with three
coats of satin polyurathane rubbed down to a high finish with Fornby Furniture
Polish and 400 grit paper. He is also designing/building a floor to ceiling
storage unit/bookcase that will be next to the desk on the left. There
is a window directly above the desk for which john will design/build a
stain glass panel insert. john is thinking the design will represent the
moon shining on zenpond at night (flowing blues, dancing greens and highlighting
milky hues).
Behind the shelves in front are several inside-entry
shelves to house a DSL modem, sub-wolfer, and surge protectors. Also,
there is a channel running between the two sides of the desk to keep wiring
off the floor and make it invisible. One wire is visible right now, but
that is temporary. The computer also slides out passed the back of the
computer for plugging in cords easily. Also, the monitor has a variable
tilt base. The plans should be available very soon.
