was in the Good Friday earthquake in Alaska (9.2 R., 7 minutes, Anchorage
Alaska, March 27, 1964, 5:37 P.M.) It changed john's life forever! john,
joyce, and her sister and husband, Nancy and Ken, took a cruise to Alaska
several years ago. john was hoping to go to Fourth and D Streets, where
the damage was really bad, and find some closure. There is absolutely no
sign of the earthquake now at Fourth and D, so closure did not happen for
john. john then decided to paint this painting instead for some closure.
While painting this, the quake in Japan happened, and john had to quit painting
this painting. It is nearly completed, but john probably will never touch
it again. john
now realizes that closure will probably NEVER happen for him. john just
hopes that the "Ring of Fire" does not take out Seattle, Portland,
San Francisco, and Los Angeles all at the same time. Please just forget
this painting, as john is not intending to make prints at all. |
