January 1 - Happy New Year 2008!

January 5 - john is still working on the painting "After The Play". He has painted out the reflection once again of the couple embracing in front of the fireplace. This time he will not paint the reflection, nor will he ever again! The painting is so much better without the reflection. john has started using his Iwata HP-C airbrush again. He learned why the airbrush was acting up on him. Coldsnow's Art Supply told john that Ammonia breaks down acrylic paint. Now john is even storing the airbrush in Ammonia between sprays. In addition, they told him to clean the brush using a pipe cleaner and Ammonia. john feels like someone learning to play a musical instrument. He is teaching himself to paint by painting over and over again. Thankfully too, he has had a couple of helpful hints from his mentor recently.

January 9 - john is still working on the painting "After The Play"! He is also making major changes to the painting, as you can see. The showbill "In the Limelight" is just imagination.

January 11 -

January 14 - john is finished (or nearly finished) with "After The Play". He plans to set it aside for awhile and then come back and look at it for problems. Here is how it looks now:

January 22 - john decided the shadows were not right, so he has changed them. john declares this painting done! Although the painting has been color corrected by computer, john likes the computer version better. Next time, he will paint it like this:

January 22 - john has started a new painting of a Maine lighthouse. Here is the block-in stage of the painting:

January 22 - john, joyce, and the tuckmeister has been noticing the white squirrel coming to zenpond. Sorry the image isn't clearer, but he moves very fast.
