November 1 - john, joyce, and tucky had ghosts and gobblins last night starting at about 6 PM and lasting until around 8:45 PM. All were very polite, and all reached into the basket multiple times taking as much candy with each handful as possible. However, with all the dippings, there was candy left at the end of the evening. One very little guy needed help getting candy to his pillow case. The pillow case was actually taller than he was, and he could not find the opening.

November 16 - john volunteered to help "Operation Iraqi Children" last Friday along with a number of other members of People to People International. (joyce, jerry, and gail had been able to volunteer several weeks before.) Over 8000 individual packages were packed and shipped out that day. Each package contained pencils, paper, colored pencils (no crayons -they would melt), scissors, erasers, pencil holders, binders, stuffed toys, pencil sharpeners, etc.

Gary Sinese, co-founder of "Operation Iraqi Children", visited the several hundred volunteers, and held a party that night for them. Gary has played many parts in movies and on television. He is well known for his role as Lt. Dan in the movie Forrest Gump. He and Laura Hillenbrand are very fine people to back this project!

joyce and john went to the dress rehearsal for the new play at the New Theatre yesterday called "Leading Ladies". It was a riot of a comedy, and they highly recommend it to all.
